Ron Shumate was born in Waxahachie, Texas and raised on the good old country classics from the 60’s and 70’s. He started “performing” in the living room for his family on weekend nights during the weekly country music shows like Hee-Haw and The Porter Wagoner Show. As he grew into his teen years, he discovered that he also enjoyed rock-n-roll, R&B and some of the newer country music being released.

Ron has since appeared on numerous stages across the globe as the lead singer for a number of successful Texas-based bands including Shameless, The Border, The Emotions, The Rodeo Clowns, People’s Choice and Rhythm of the Road. He has opened shows for Merle Haggard, John Conlee, Tanya Tucker, Ronnie Milsap, Eddy Raven, Joe Nichols, Doug Kershaw, Ricochet, David Kersh, Jesse Hunter, Wade Bowen, Kevin Fowler, Sons of the Desert, Kyle Park, Pat Green, Randy Rogers Band, Daryle Singletary, Chris LeDoux, Chris Cagle, Doug Stone and many others.

Ron did some recording and showcases for a few major record labels, but couldn’t find a home in the Nashville record industry. After years of being the front-man and lead singer of many bands, Ron decided to do his own thing. He released his first CD as a solo artist in 2012 titled “Somebody Loves You”. The CD was dedicated to the memory of his father and sister, whom both left this world way too soon. He had limited success with the album. It has been played all over Texas on local radio stations and all over the world online. People are still downloading the CD and songs today on iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon, just to name a few online distributors.
